1st European Nursery Championship 2012 on 7/8 January

In the weekend of 7/8 january 2012 we organized the First European Nursery Championship. This initiative was taken by several European countries in order to enlarge the competition for working Border Collies and to get a chance to see different European dogs running a trial and meeting handlers from the different countries.

Dogs that did not reach the age of 3 years on the day of the trial were welcome to enter. Although this was the first edition, already 7 countries entered! The level of the dogs was very high and it appears that there will be a lot of good quality dogs trialling the coming years.

This first edition was a bigger success then we could have ever dreamt of. It was a weekend full of competition, excitement, cooperation between different countries, passion and friendship through men’s best friend. There were a lot of spectators from different countries, who sometimes travelled for hours to have a look on young European talent.

This and all the efforts the competitors made to come all the way from their own country to The Netherlands, as well as the many volunteers who helped to make this Championship a success and of course our judge from Ireland mr. Pat Murphy, made it a Championship to remember. Thank you very much!
And also many thanks to all the people who made this first edition of the European Nursery Championship even a bit bigger than the whole world. The organization got a lot of positive energy out of this.
